Welcome to the Executive Pastor Cohort, led by Phil Taylor, seasoned Executive Pastor, leadership coach, and author of “Defining The Executive Pastor Role”. 

This cohort is designed for current Executive Pastors/Second Chair Leaders navigating the complex and often demanding intersection of vision, operations, staff leadership, and church health. 

In this practical, peer-driven learning experience, you’ll journey through the real-world challenges and opportunities faced by XPs, gaining tools, wisdom, and strategies to lead with clarity, confidence, and spiritual integrity.

The cohort will begin on November 5th at 2PM-3:30PM EST and continue every 1st and 3rd Wednesday for ten sessions, finishing just a little bit before Easter 2026. 

What to Expect:

This cohort is intentionally structured to create space for dialogue, peer learning, and actionable insights, while providing a progressive flow of topics critical to the XP role.

Each topic will unlock at key intervals after enrollment, allowing you to process and apply learning in your local context.

  • Calendar Rhythms for Sustainable Leadership
    Design and lead sustainable rhythms that help you—and your team—thrive.

  • Soul Care for the XP It might sound like an oxymoron, but XP’S do have souls! 

  • Creating a Culture of Generosity & Developing a Giving Strategy
    Explore how to create a giving culture and lead generosity strategies with purpose.

  • The “Pastor” Side of Executive Pastoring. How is this different than others on your staff? Preaching when you are not the main teacher. Counseling/guidance. 

  • Operational Excellence-The Business side of Church. (HR, Budgeting, Organizational Structure)
    Lead with excellence in the areas of operations, HR, budgeting, and systems.

  • Building a Healthy Staff Culture That Lasts.
    Learn how to cultivate a culture of trust, unity, and health on your church staff team.

  • Sustainable Project Management. Launching new ministries, doing major projects. 

  • Developing an Elder Team. Whose in, and whose out? What is a good process?
